On Tuesday, August 23rd, As It Was, JPR's daily series of audio vignettes on the history of southern Oregon and northern California will reach a significant milestone: 3,000 episodes!
Produced as a partnership between JPR and the Southern Oregon Historical Society, As It Was chronicles the history of the regional through daily stories researched and written by SOHS volunteers.
The show is hosted by OSF veteran actress Shirley Patton. Each episode is assembled by producer Raymond Scully. The small army of writers are coordinated by SOHS's Kernan Turner, who also writes many of the stories and edits the submissions from the rest of the crew.
All of us at JPR would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for the incredible accomplishment!
Over the series run, there have been many dozen writers, and we'd like to acknowledge some of the primary contributors for their excellent work. Each writer's name will link to the stories they've contributed to the project.
