President Trump has approved federal disaster assistance for four Oregon counties in response to severe winter weather earlier this year.

The White House says funding is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments on a cost sharing basis.

Federal funding is also available on a cost sharing basis for statewide hazard mitigation measures.

Columbia, Deschutes, Josephine and Hood River counties are named in the disaster declaration due to severe winter weather, flooding, landslides and mudslides in January.

Additional designations could be made later, if warranted by further damage assessments.
