Sea stars--starfish--are in trouble in much of the West Coast.

Sea star wasting disease causes the animals to lose arms and ultimately disintegrate, and scientists do not know yet what causes it.

But the Oregon Coast Aquarium notices a sharp increase in sightings of diseased sea stars.

We talk about the magnitude and any possible corrective action with the aquarium's Jim Burke.
