Re-Enrollment Confusion At Cover Oregon

Now that the enrollment window for insurance through the federal health exchange is open, there's confusion about who needs to re-enroll there and who doesn't.

The 70,000 people who signed up for private insurance through Cover Oregon last time do need to re-enroll.

But another 350,000 people were enrolled in Medicaid -- the Oregon Health Plan.

Hope Harris is one of those. She's a massage therapist from Astoria, and says she's had calls from both her brother and sister telling her what to do: "You have to re-apply because there's some kind of glitch in the system and you better do it immediately."

But because Harris is on Medicaid, she doesn't have to re-enroll through the federal website. Instead, the state will contact her with instructions when re-enrollment time comes.

Oregon has delayed re-enrollments because of the sheer number of people involved.
