Former Oregon Attorney General and University of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer died Monday night.

House Speaker Tina Kotek made the announcement.

“If we could take a moment of silence to remember former Attorney General Dave Frohnmayer,” she said.

And then three lawmakers stood up and had a few comments to make about Dave Frohnmayer. All three lawmakers talked about Frohnmayer’s dedication and public service. They talked about his ability to bridge divides between different parties and people with different points of view.

And one lawmaker even talked about the former attorney general’s sense of humor. He called Frohnmayer one of the funniest politicians he’s ever met.”

Frohnmayer was U of O president for 15 years and was attorney general for a decade.
