Jurors in the trial of seven occupiers of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge will continue deliberations Monday. The jury began discussing the case on Thursday before leaving for the weekend.
The 12 jurors are weighing whether Ammon Bundy, his brother Ryan Bundy and five other occupiers are guilty of conspiracy to impede federal employees from doing their jobs through the use of force, intimidation or threats.
Federal prosecutors say the group conspired to prevent federal employees from doing their jobs at the Eastern Oregon wildlife refuge, near Burns, Oregon.
The jurors are considering multiple charges for some of the defendants, including theft of government property and carrying a firearm in a federal facility.
There’s a huge amount of evidence in the case. Jurors heard some six weeks of testimony from federal prosecutors and seven separate defense teams.
