Beginning Sunday evening, October 2nd, JPR's Classics & News Service will begin airing the new season of weekly programs called Concerts from the Library of Congress.
Concerts from the Library of Congress is a 13- part series hosted by Bill McLaughlin -- a co-production of the Library of Congress, and CD Syndications. The program combines a ninety-year tradition of broadcasts from the historic Coolidge Auditorium with an interactive website, loc.gov, accessing some 22 million items in the Library's music archives.
This season, you’ll hear three of the world’s top period instrument ensembles: Bach Collegium Japan, Apollo’s Fire, and Boston’s famous Handel and Haydn Society; opera star Anne Sofie von Otter; violinist Jennifer Koh; the Ensemble Intercontemporain, with Matthias Pintscher; and pianist Richard Goode. Join us as Concerts from the Library of Congress celebrates a remarkable 90 years on the air!
Concerts from the Library of Congress airs Sunday evenings at 7pm on JPR'sClassics & News Service.
