California Election Town Hall Special Tuesday, May 31st at 7pm

On Tuesday evening, May 31st 6pm, JPR will broadcast a one-hour election special called California Counts Town Hall: How California Will Shape the 2016 Election.

KQED’s Scott Shafer, senior editor for politics and government, and KPCC’s Larry Mantle, host of the public affairs show AirTalk, convened a town hall with a panel of election insiders to get a pulse of how Californians are feeling leading up to the state’s June 7 primary and ahead to the November election.
Recorded live at the Brava Theater in San Francisco May 17, the special features questions from the audience on issues that matter most to Californians.

The event is part of California Counts, a collaboration of KPCC, KPBS, KQED and Capital Public Radio to cover the 2016 election.

The panel of guests includes:

-Mark DiCamillo, Senior VP of Field Research Corporation and Director of the Field Poll
-Lisa Garcia Bedolla, Chancellor's Professor of Education and Political Science at University of California, Berkeley
-Harmeet Dhillon, former vice chair of the California Republican Party and 2016 RNC National Committeewoman
-Mindy Romero, founding director of the California Civic Engagement Project at UC Davis
-Fiona Ma, Chairwoman of the California State Board of Equalization -Sean T. Walsh, media and political strategist and member of the State Wide Leadership Council for the Public Policy Institute of California; he is a former adviser to California Governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Pete Wilson

California Counts will air on the California feed of our Classics & News Service at 6pm, and will be rebroadcast on the California feed of the News & Information Service at 7pm. You can also listen online by clicking the "Listen Live" link at the top of the page and selecting either "Classics & News" or "News & Information" depending on the time most convenient for you to listen.
