Medford Considers Dog (Owner) Sanctions

Chief Tim George and Maureen Swift detail the dog ordinance plans in Medford.

Just because the Medford City Council backed down from a dog fight does not mean it's done with dog issues. 

The council chose not to enact a ban on certain aggressive dog breeds earlier this year, after hearing a fair amount of barking (sorry) from dog owners. 

But issues with dogs remain in town.

Laughing About Dogs And Cats For A Good Cause

We go behind the scenes with the group from the show "Far From the Zoo."

Ashland playwright/poet Dori Appel wrote a pile of work already, and continues to add to it. 

Her latest project is less about the play than the critters who benefit: homeless and sheltered animals.  Appel's series of comic vignettes, Far From the Zoo, will be performed across the Rogue Valley on three consecutive weekends.

Maybe your dog has a particular talent… can balance a dog treat on his/her nose, for example.

Francesco Marciuliano describes the process of writing for the funnies... and from the minds of dogs.

Dogs did not really write the poems in "I Could Chew on This," we're reasonably sure.  Just as cats did not write the poems in "I Could Pee on This."  Francesco Marciuliano wrote them all, just as he writes the daily "Sally Forth" comic strip in newspapers across the country.  Marciuliano is clearly a busy guy, but he'll spend an hour with us talking about his work and the creative process.
