Speaking For The Trees In The Applegate Valley

Matt and Lydia Musselwhite explain the details of the area they want to protect from logging.

The concept of protecting lands through conservation easements is well-established. 

Property owners agree not to log (or farm, or mine, or whatever the easement specifies) their land far into the future.  A group in Oregon's Applegate valley called Speak For the Trees is working to reach conservation easements to protect forest land from logging.

Laughing About Dogs And Cats For A Good Cause

We go behind the scenes with the group from the show "Far From the Zoo."

Ashland playwright/poet Dori Appel wrote a pile of work already, and continues to add to it. 

Her latest project is less about the play than the critters who benefit: homeless and sheltered animals.  Appel's series of comic vignettes, Far From the Zoo, will be performed across the Rogue Valley on three consecutive weekends.
