Willie Taggart is going to do something else.
After only one season as Oregon’s head coach, Taggart is leaving to accept the same position at Florida State, according to a Sports Illustrated report.
A source told The Register-Guard that Oregon’s players have been summoned to a 1:30 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex to be informed of the news.
Just shy of a calendar year since Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens hired Taggart away from South Florida on Dec. 7, 2016, the 41-year-old Palmetto, Florida, native is heading back to his home state.
