Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., waves to a supporter in downtown Philadelphia, Thursday, July 28, 2016, during the final day of the Democratic National Convention.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is personally urging his Oregon delegates to support Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, but many have met his plea with silence.

Democratic delegates from Oregon warmly received Sanders when he joined them Thursday morning at their suburban hotel. He said they helped push Clinton closer to his positions on issues such as college tuition and health care.

He said he didn’t get everything he wanted and that he’ll continue fighting for what he calls his political revolution. In the meantime, he urged followers not to sit out the election.

“We have got to do everything that we can to make sure that Donald Trump is defeated and Hillary Clinton is elected,” he said.

Those cheers, however, mostly came from delegates supporting Clinton. Many Sanders delegates say they don’t know how they will vote in November. Sanders wasn’t booed like at some delegation meetings earlier in the week when he praised Clinton. After he left, some supporters tearfully hugged each other and said they didn’t know if they’d ever see him again.
