Rhythm & News Outage/Impairment on January 7-8

JPR experienced a major failure of a critical computer system that is central to the routing and control of our Rhythm and News Service at approximately 9pm on Tuesday evening, January 7th.

Our chief engineer will work through the evening to ensure that we have alternate programming available tonight and Morning Edition is available tomorrow at 5am.  We want to let you know that our schedule may be partially impaired until we can restore the system from backup systems.  Thanks for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Update |  1:49am:  Our chief engineer, Darin Ransom, worked late to identify where the system failed and was able to get things temporarily back in operation while we address the hardware issue tomorrow.  As of 2am, things should run as normal as far as listeners are concerned.  Kudos to Darin for a job well done -- even during a time he's been under the weather fighting the flu.  If you notice any discrepancies or anomalies in our Rhythm and News program schedule please take a moment to shoot us an email at jpralert@jeffnet.org.
