Democratic National Convention
Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Oregon, casts Oregon's delegate votes during the roll call of states.

Delegates from Oregon and Washington officially cast their votes for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton Tuesday at the party's national convention in Philadelphia. Oregon's votes were cast by one of the state's two Democratic U.S. Senators, Jeff Merkley.

"Oregon, ready for Hillary, casts 34 votes for Secretary Hillary Clinton. And Madame Secretary, Oregon, "feeling the Bern," casts 38 votes for Senator Bernie Sanders."

Washington's delegation also split its votes between Sanders and Clinton.

The delegate totals were determined in part by voters in Oregon and caucus-goers in Washington. Each state's superdelegates also cast their votes.

Some Sanders delegates from both Oregon and Washington walked out of the convention arena in protest following the nomination of Hillary Clinton.
