NPR Adds Marketplace Morning Report to Morning Edition

Beginning Monday, September 22nd, American Public Media's Marketplace Morning Report will become a regular daily feature of NPR's Morning Edition. JPR listeners can hear the program at 5:50am and 7:50am on the Rhythm & News Service, and at 5:50am on the Classics & News Service.

"The agreement represents a new era of collaboration in public radio. There are no other media institutions that offer audiences what we can," said Margaret Low Smith, NPR's senior vice president for news. "Marketplace Morning Report offers a natural complement to Morning Edition's in-depth national and international coverage."

"This is a positive reflection of our industry's future," said Deborah Clark, Marketplace vice president and executive producer. "This is a good development for everybody, especially the audience."

For the past 25 years, Marketplace Morning Report's proven passion and expertise has brought an original voice and comprehensive coverage to business reporting. Produced in association with the University of Southern California, Marketplace Morning Report is noted for its timely, relevant and accessible coverage of business, economic and personal finance focusing on the latest business news both nationally and internationally, the global economy and wider events linked to the financial markets.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
