Minimum Wage Impacts Assessed

The paper is signed; Oregon's minimum wage will push up in steps over the next five years, eventually reaching $14.75 per hour in the Portland area, less outside the metro counties. 

Legislative passage was not a smooth process; business owners worry that they will lose workers or have to raise prices sharply to keep up.  We explore the ramifications of the minimum wage with the state Employment Department, get an idea of the impact on public universities with a rep from Southern Oregon University, and check in with the private sector as well, through Rogue Valley Microdevices.
