Jason McClaughry explains the value of much more detailed maps of the Oregon coast.

The Southern Oregon Coast is prone to earthquakes.

Geologists are absolutely clear on that, with a lot of evidence to support them.

But some of the evidence is now being updated, using high-tech methods not previously available.

New maps produced by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) with the new technologies show much greater detail about potential hazards along the coast.
