Last year, a group of students at Reed College protested nearly every lecture of the campus’ year-long freshman humanities course. The students argued that the syllabus for the class is too white, male and Eurocentric. They also say Reed needs to be more receptive to the needs of students of color. Earlier this fall, two classes were canceled because of protests. Last week, we heard from two deans at Reed.
