The landscape around us did not always look like it does now.
And it was once home to creatures we can scarcely imagine today.
The changes in our region are tracked in the new "Explore Oregon" exhibit at the University of Oregon's Museum of Natural and Cultural History.
The exhibit is new, but the information stretches back eons... and includes cautionary tales for people who can't imagine the massive changes that come to the planet over time.
