Southern Oregon University president Mary Cullinan will not be moving to Ohio after all.
Youngstown State University announced today (Friday) that the Board of Trustees has chosen former football coach Jim Tressel to be YSU’s next president.
Cullinan revealed on April 28 that she had been approached by a recruiter who asked if she was interested in applying for the position. She submitted an application, took part in a Skype interview and was announced as one of three finalists. Cullinan visited the YSU campus on Wednesday (May 7) for final interviews and a public forum.
The YSU board met in closed session this morning (Friday), then emerged to offer the position to Tressel.
Cullinan’s office said Friday she would be out of contact and unavailable for comment until next week.
