California Wildfire Roundup For Sept. 11

This is the place to get links to updates on evacuations, road closures and other relevant information on wildfires currently burning in JPR's listening area in northern California.

The Eclipse Complex consists of five fires in the Klamath National Forest near Happy Camp. The fires started on Aug. 15 and have burned a total of 96,151 acres. The complex is 25% contained.

The Salmon-August Complex started on Aug. 11 in the Marble Mountain Wilderness and the Klamath National Forest side of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. It's burned 65,392 acres and is 26 percent contained.

The Orleans Complex consists of 19 fires that started on July 25 in the Six Rivers National Forest. The fires have burned 26,490 acres. Perimeter containment is 53 percent.

The Helena fire started on Aug. 30 near the town of Helena, west of Weaverville along Highway 299  in Trinity County. It's burning along Highway 299 a well as along both sides of the Trinity River.

The fire has so far burned 20,354 acres and is at 43 percent containment.

As of Sept. 5, 72 homes and 61 outbuildings had been destroyed and four homes and four outbuildings had been damaged.

Evacuations have been ordered by the Trinity County Sheriff's Office.
