Now take one away, and how well are you doing?  It is difficult for most of us to imagine what life is like for people lacking one of the senses, especially blind people. 

Author Rosemary Mahoney profiles people who live with blindness, many in unsympathetic cultures around the world, in her book For The Benefit of Those Who See.
