(... on Rhythm &amp; News and Classics &amp; News): &nbsp;4/8 (1pm)</strong> -- Darin made the new microwave units that arrived by FedEx work and we're back with you on 2 of our 3 services. &nbsp;We're waiting for a repair that needed to be made by the manufacturer in order to re-establish service for our News and Information service. &nbsp;Thanks so much for your patience and kind, supportive comments.</p> Fri, 04 Apr 2014 16:53:54 +0000 Paul Westhelle 10264 at KAGI Grants Pass Intermittent Outages <p>JPR's&nbsp;News and Information Service station, KAGI&nbsp;AM930 in Grants Pass, has been experiencing intermittent outages for the past several days. &nbsp;Our engineer has been on site numerous times to diagnose the problem and KAGI&nbsp;is now back on the air. &nbsp; KAGI has been operating on a backup transmitter (the equivalent of the old Buick that's been in the garage and still runs) since the main transmitter was fried by lightening several months ago. We recently settled the insurance claim, which provided about half the funds to replace the transmitter. Don't Tell Me! </em>this spring. He will, however, remain "scorekeeper emeritus" for the show. Before becoming the official scorekeeper for the NPR news quiz show in 1998, Carl anchored the newscast for <em>Morning Edition</em>.<p>His voice was the first thing many of us woke up to and became synonymous with NPR.
