Event Description

Geology of southern Oregon; Everything You Want to Know Learn the Fascinating Geological History of Our Region The Southern Oregon Klamath Mountains contain a bewildering variety of rocks, including altered mantle material (serpentine), deep sea sediment, and volcanic lavas of various ages all shoved together along great faults. Find out about the dynamic processes that formed the landscape you live in! Jad D’Allura, PhD taught geology at Southern Oregon University for 33 years. He teaches an occasional chemistry course and continues his research in the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument. When his muse pokes him, he writes short geology articles for the Medford Mail Tribune.
